Cedric Soares won’t play against Tottenham this weekend after suffering an injury setback in Arsenal training.
The international break is finally coming to an end and Premier League action is on the horizon once again.
This break felt even longer for many clubs who had games postponed due to the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.
Arsenal did play the weekend before the international break, beating Brentford 3-0 – but this weekend it’s a bigger London derby for the Gunners.

Cedric Soares won’t play against Tottenham
It’s the North London derby this weekend as Tottenham make the short trip to the Emirates Stadium.
Mikel Arteta has a number of fitness issues to check on in the coming days as he looks to put his team together.
One of the big problem areas is left back.
Oleksandr Zinchenko has been nursing problems of late whilst Kieran Tierney suffered a head injury whilst on international duty with Scotland.
If both players miss out on the Tottenham game, the next logical suggestion would be for Cedric Soares to come in.
However, the Portuguese ace picked up an injury in training before Arsenal took on FC Zurich on September 8th.
Cedric was hoping to be fit for this weekend but Goal report that he has now suffered a setback in his recovery and his absence will now be extended.
That’s a blow for Cedric, whose season hasn’t got started yet.
The 31-year-old hasn’t made a single competitive appearance this season with injuries and selection keeping him out of the side.
Even when Arsenal’s two outstanding left backs are in danger of missing out, fate just seems to keep Cedric on the sidelines.
Arteta must now try to figure out who on earth starts at left back should Zinchenko, Tierney and Cedric are missing against Tottenham.
Takehiro Tomiyasu may be the next man up for Arsenal with this latest blow leaving Arsenal in a tricky spot ahead of Saturday’s clash.
