Arsenal right-back Cedric Soares has told Sky Sports that Takehiro Tomiyasu can still improve his game.
Tomiyasu joined Arsenal from Bologna in the summer of 2021 and has established himself as the number one right-back at the Gunners.
The 23-year-old Japan international, who can also operate as a centre-back, has had injury problems in recent weeks, which has allowed Cedric to get his chance.
The Portugal international right-back has said that he and Tomiyasu have a very good relationship, and that the Japanese right-back could still improve.

Cedric told Sky Sports about Tomiyasu: “Me and Tomi are good friends. We try to help each other on the pitch. Before the game, I sometimes help him when I’m not playing. Sometimes he helps me.
“When he came, of course I knew he was going to have these opportunities [to start] – that’s why he came in the first place! What’s important is that me and Tomiyasu have a natural, positive relationship and we both want to help the team in every moment.
“He’s a fantastic guy, he’s young, so he has also a lot of room to keep improving. I’m there to help him and that’s what I’m trying.”

Star player
In our opinion, Tomiyasu is a brilliant right-back who can only get better for Arsenal in the coming years.
The Japan international hit the ground running at the Emirates Stadium and is a very ‘balanced’ right-back.
Tomiyasu is good defensively, and his attacking forays are also quite measured and well thought-out.
The Arsenal no. 18 has made 16 appearances in the Premier League for Mikel Arteta’s side so far this season.
The 23-year-old has given one assist in those games.
For Arsenal to finish in the Premier League top four this season, Tomiyasu will have to be on top of his games for the final weeks.
