The Arsenal midfielder made headlines for the wrong reasons this past weekend.

Unai Emery has offered an insight into Granit Xhaka’s state of mind, admitting that the Arsenal midfielder is ‘devastated and sad’ over recent events.
Xhaka made headlines during the Gunners’ draw with Crystal Palace on Sunday for removing his shirt and storming down the tunnel after his substitution was met with jeers by the Emirates faithful.
In addition to that, the Swiss international is also reported to have cursed at the booing Arsenal fans.
Xhaka was only named as Arsenal captain last month but now it remains to be seen whether he will keep the armband.
And although Emery refused to discuss the captaincy, the Arsenal boss did confirm that the 27-year-old was not feeling great over the whole incident.
He told BBC Sport ahead of tomorrow’s League Cup clash away to Liverpool: “It is not easy for him and for the team. We spoke yesterday, and Sunday night also, and this morning.
“He trained normally with the group but he is devastated and sad about the situation.”
Speaking to the club’s official website, the Spanish coach added that the former Borussia Monchengladbach star isn’t feeling enough love from the Gunners’ support.
He said: “We need our family, our friends, our supporters to support us, like us. Love us, everybody. He is not feeling that with the supporters.”
Xhaka is a huge player for Arsenal in terms of appearances, having been a regular fixture in the first team under Arsene Wenger and now Emery. In Wenger’s final season, he started 37 out of 38 Premier League games.
