Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has issued a five-word response to questions over his record against Sean Dyche ahead of hosting Everton. The Toffees travel to London on Wednesday.
The Gunners play host to the Goodison Park outfit just 25 days after losing 1-0 to the Blues on Merseyside. James Tarkowski gifted Dyche all three points in his first match in charge of Everton after meeting Dwight McNeil’s corner. The defender beat Martin Odegaard to score.
Everton now travel to Emirates Stadium to face Arsenal in the teams’ rescheduled Premier League fixture. Arteta was set to host a Frank Lampard-led Toffees team on September 11. But the league postponed the game following the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Arsenal can create a five-point lead at the top of the Premier League table with a win over Everton. The Gunners endured a slump after losing at Goodison with the controversial 1-1 draw against Brentford before losing 3-1 to Manchester City. But they have bounced back.
Arteta oversaw a 4-2 win at Aston Villa and a 1-0 win at Leicester City in Arsenal’s last two games. While Everton have beaten Leeds United 1-0 in between a 2-0 loss at Liverpool and a 2-0 loss to Aston Villa since beating the Gunners. Results leave the Toffees in 18th place.

Everton boss Dyche has a superior record over Arsenal manager Arteta
Arsenal host Everton in their rescheduled Premier League meeting with Arteta’s team atop the table by two points to Manchester City. Wednesday’s fixture is also the Gunners’ game in hand over the Citizens. The three clubs will have 13 matches to play following this clash.
But Everton’s recent win over Arsenal saw Dyche deal Arteta a second defeat over their six meetings as managers. The Toffees boss won in one of his five games against the Spaniard whilst in charge of Burnley. Arteta has only beaten Dyche once and drawn in three fixtures.
Every game that Arsenal have played under Arteta against a Dyche-led club has been close, as well. The three matches with a winner all ended 1-0 while two of the three draws ended 0-0. Now, Arteta has responded to questions about what his record against Dyche means.
The Gunners boss simply stated, via quotes by football.london: “That we have to improve.”
Arteta is yet to beat Dyche as manager of Arsenal on home soil after a 1-0 defeat and a 0-0 draw against the Everton boss’ Burnley squads. While the Gunners drew 0-0, drew 1-1 and won 1-0 at Turf Moor. So, Arteta will hope his Arsenal squad improves on Wednesday night.
