Mikel Arteta has claimed that Tottenham boss Antonio Conte ‘masters what he does’, as he told his Arsenal press conference.
The Arsenal boss added that the Italian brings ‘a lot of clarity’ to his style of play and he has been an ‘extremely successful’ coach.
Tottenham fans will be hoping some of that success can filter its way through to their shores because they are in desperate need of it.
Prior to Conte moving to north London, he won the Serie A title with Inter, before leaving in the summer on his own terms.
Those in the Spurs boardroom tried to lure him towards their direction, but failed at first, before getting their man when they sacked Nuno Espirito Santo.
And even though he is a rival, Arteta is a big fan of what Conte brings to the table as a coach.
“I think what Antonio brings is a lot of clarity of his way of playing,” said Arteta. “He masters what he does.
“He is an extremely successful coach. They play differently. They have different principles that they apply.”

Conte is known to turn struggling ships around or teams that, at his initial appointment, were on their knees.
Chelsea finished tenth in the Premier League table when he took over from Jose Mourinho.
And whilst it was a slow start, he eventually won the Premier League title that season, and later on, the FA Cup in their colours.
Whilst Conte didn’t directly replace Mourinho at Hotspur Way, their fans will be hoping he can spray some of his magic on them.
