Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have countlessly scouted Torino full-back Wilfried Singo in view of a potential transfer to the Premier League, according to Fabrizio Romano for CBS.
The Gunners and Spurs have sent their talent spotters to Serie A this season to keep track of Singo’s performances. He is emerging as one of Europe’s breakthrough defenders with a string of strong displays under manager Ivan Juric at the Olympic Grande Torino Stadium.
Singo has already offered three goals and four assists in 25 appearances, mostly spent as a wide midfielder. His goal haul has also helped Juric’s men edge Sampdoria twice and beat Fiorentina. While his assists have helped to draws with Lazio, Venezia and Sassuolo so far.

The four-cap Ivory Coast international has already eclipsed his minutes tally from last term over his outings this season, too. Singo made 28 appearances in 2020/21 but only started 20 for 1,851-minutes. He also offered one goal and three assists during a relegation battle.
Singo has already featured for 1,871-minutes so far this season to help Torino sit 11th after 26 Serie A games. The Ivorian missed Il Toro’s draw at Cagliari in December after seeing red against Empoli. A VAR review upgraded his yellow for denying a clear goal-scoring chance.
Arsenal battling Tottenham after endlessly scouting Torino star Wilfried Singo
Singo seeing red against Empoli has done little to limit the pool of clubs scouting his Torino performances like Arsenal and Tottenham in view of a transfer. Calciomercato reported last month that AC Milan had explored the full-back’s availability ahead of the winter market.
But the Rossoneri opted for a more experienced option amid their Serie A title push. Torino also demanded an €18m (£15m) fee, having long been on Juventus’ radar. The Bianconeri are in the mix, as well, with the Turin outfit keen to raid their rivals at the end of the term.

Andrea Pirlo first suggested Juventus sign Singo from Torino whilst he stood at the Allianz Stadium helm. The defender was also very popular with Spurs’ managing director, Fabio Paratici, before he left the Italian powerhouse for a role in north London last summer.
Paratici pointed to Singo’s performances several times over the course of last season. So, it is likely the Tottenham chief is now driving their transfer interest in Singo against Arsenal’s admiration of the Torino star, who is under contract with Il Toro until the summer of 2023.
But Antonio Conte also likes Singo and identified the defender among his early targets as Spurs manager, per Tuttosport. Yet Tottenham or Arsenal are unlikely to secure a bargain in the summer window as Torino have an option to extend Singo’s contract by 12-months.
