Arsenal may find it difficult to sign Ferran Torres with the attacker expected to get another chance to shine with Barcelona.

German newspaper Bild reported earlier this month that Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur both fancy signing Torres.

Arsenal are considering more attacking additions with Gabriel Jesus currently on the treatment table for a while yet.

Torres is one option Arsenal appear to be considering as they eye another former Manchester City player after signing Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Mikel Arteta and Torres never crossed paths at City though and Pep Guardiola sold Torres to Barca for around £55million last January.

The story has been pretty similar at the Camp Nou as it was at the Etihad Stadium; Torres has plenty of quality and potential but hasn’t fully clicked.

12 goals and seven assists in 45 games since his arrival isn’t a bad record for Torres but the 22-year-old is in and out of the team and hasn’t nailed down one position.

Arsenal target Ferran Torres could stay at Barcelona

Torres has started just six league games this season and one in the Champions League.

Given that Barcelona signed Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha over the summer as well as handing Ousmane Dembele a new contract, Torres ma be left wondering why he even bothered signing.

A return to the Premier League with Arsenal or Tottenham could appeal to Torres but that may not happen.

Transfer insider Dean Jones has told Give Me Sport that information he is hearing from Spain suggests that Torres will get another chance with Barcelona.

Barcelona seemingly don’t want to completely five up on Torres just yet and are willing to hang on a while before letting him go.

This is Barcelona though; if Arsenal offer them a hefty amount of cash, they will probably take it to fund some strange signings down the line.

If Arsenal want the attacker hailed as ‘clinical’ by Pep Guardiola, they will either have to come up with an incredible offer or wait until the summer.
