Barcelona winger Ansu Fati seems ‘a bit down’ as he struggles for game time amid links with a move to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.

That’s the view of Barcelona teammate Raphinha, who has been quoted by Heavy as saying Fati’s low mood is understandable.

Raphinha noted that Fati is ‘a bit down’ as he isn’t playing a key role for Xavi’s Barcelona side.

The Brazilian adds that he and the rest of the Barcelona squad are trying to pick Fati up and give him more confidence moving forward.

“It is normal that he is a bit down because he is not playing, but he has a very high quality,” said Raphinha. “When you’re not playing, it’s normal for you to be a little lower. But we are trying to get him higher so that he has more confidence,” he added.

Fati has recently been linked with a move to Arsenal and his unhappiness may well facilitate a move.

Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo claimed just a couple of weeks ago that Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur both fancy signing Fati.

CBS Sports reporter Ben Jacobs has even told Give Me Sport that Arsenal have started contact with Fati’s representatives to discuss a deal.

Arsenal did sign a winger in January as Leandro Trossard arrived from Brighton and Hove Albion, but signing a talent like Fati may be too good to pass up.

Arsenal target Ansu Fati may need fresh start

In our view, teammates spotting Fati’s disappointment this season is maybe a sign that a Barcelona exit could be on the cards.

Fati, 20, was supposed to be the next big thing when he broke through at Barcelona.

Eight goals in his first season for Barca left many believing that Fati would become a superstar.

Injuries have been a major problem though and Fati has slipped down the Barcelona pecking order this season.

Fati has started just seven La Liga games this term and came off the bench for only 23 minutes against Manchester United on Thursday.

The Spaniard needs minutes to get back to his best and it seems that they are going to be in short supply at Barcelona.

If Arsenal try their luck with a move for Fati this summer, maybe a deal really will be possible.
