Arsenal are reportedly at an advanced stage with Bukayo Saka over a new contract, with the winger close to signing a long-term deal with the Gunners in what could be the first of three major moves from the north London club.

According to the Athletic, Arsenal are deep in the process with Saka regarded a new contract, with the England international set to sign a deal that will commit the attacker to his boyhood club beyond 2024, with Gabriel Martinelli and William Saliba also likely to follow suit.

The 21-year-old forward has been one of Arsenal’s best players this season with Saka already bagging five goals and four assists in all competitions for the Gunners, with Mikel Arteta viewing the winger as one of the club’s most important long-term assets along with Martinelli and Saliba.

The trio have all been in exceptional form this campaign with Arsenal sitting top of the Premier League table after ten games, and many fans are desperate for Saka, Martinelli and Saliba to all sign new contracts that could usher in a new and exciting era for the north London club.

Hailed as ‘outrageous’ by Garth Crooks for his latest goal over the weekend against Leeds United, Saka tying down his future with the club would be quite the achievement from Arsenal, with top clubs across England and Europe likely keeping tabs on the winger’s contract situation.

Indeed, Saka is on course to become an Arsenal club legend if he maintains this level of form for the coming years should he sign a new deal. And this latest update is arguably the biggest indicator yet that a contract could be signed sooner than we think.

Saka’s rise as one of England’s most exciting players continues to defy expectations, with the Arsenal winger on course to smash his goalscoring record from last season of 12 goals in all competitions, and the winger signing a new deal would be just as big as a fresh signing for supporters.

After all, Saka is one of Arsenal’s own after coming through at Hale End, and many fans will want the winger to sign a new long-term deal that best reflects his impact on the pitch, especially with the Gunners now a club on the rise under Arteta.
