Charles Watts has told his own Youtube channel that Arsenal remain seriously interested in signing Ben White from Brighton & Hove Albion, but the deal has been complicated by the defender being at Euro 2020.
White is part of England’s squad and although he hasn’t featured for the Three Lions yet, Arsenal may have to wait until the end of the tournament before finding out of their attempts to land him have been successful.
Indeed Watts says that reports that Arsenal have made a second bid for the 23-year-old are wide of the mark.
And it seems that Arsenal supporters may need to be patient, as the club look to do a deal with Brighton.
“I haven’t heard that a second bid has gone in for Ben White. Arsenal and Brighton are still talking over this,” he said.
“Ben White is still at the Euro’s so that has complicated things.
“Maybe it might have to wait until the Euro’s are over until this transfer kicks on and kicks into place.
“Arsenal are certainly very interested in Ben White and they are very serious when it comes to trying to sign him and I wouldn’t be surprised if they get it over the line.”

An anxious wait?
Most the noises about the transfer have been positive, so there is no reason to believe Arsenal won’t be able to pull off a deal after the tournament finishes.
However, Arteta and Gunners fans may well face a nervous wait to find out whether they can get the deal over the line.
White appears to have emerged as Arsenal’s top target in a priority position for them to upgrade.
Arteta’s side do have a wealth of options at the back, but with David Luiz departing, a new central defender has been sought to replace the Brazilian.
White possesses far less experience than Luiz, but he is similarly talented in possession.
And it seems that Arsenal are backing him to fulfil his potential and become a star, given that they are apparently prepared to commit £45 million to sign him (Football London).
