Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are among the clubs who are interested in signing Archie Gray from Leeds United.

That is according to 90min, which has claimed interest in Gray from Liverpool and Manchester City as well and has outlined Leeds’s stance on the teenager.

So, what is being reported about Arsenal, Leeds United and Archie Gray? Let’s take a look.

What’s the story?

Well, according to 90min, Arsenal are interested in signing Leeds United midfielder Archie Gray.

Arsenal have scouted Gray recently. Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have also been keeping tabs on the 17-year-old, who is a midfielder by trade but has been excelling at right-back in recent matches.

90min has added that Liverpool, Manchester City, Newcastle United and Borussia Dortmund all are keen on Gray, but Leeds do not want to sell the teenager, who was described as “incredible” and “phenomenal” by former Elland Road star Jermaine Beckford in Leeds Live in August 2023.

There has also been speculation that Liverpool are ready to bid for Gray, who is claimed to be valued at between £40 million and £50 million by Leeds.

Arsenal should not bid for Leeds United teenager Archie Gray

In my view, Arsenal should not get into a bidding war with other clubs for Leeds United player Archie Gray.

I have no doubt that Gray is a very good player. After all, he is now a regular for Leeds in the Championship.

It is not easy to play for as big a club as Leeds, even in the second tier of English football.

However, if Leeds want £40 million for Gray, then Arsenal should not even think of making an offer.

Gray is a ‘talent’. He is not the finished article yet and would not be able to challenge for a place in the Arsenal starting lineup right now.

If Arsenal want to win the Premier League title and make an impact in the UEFA Champions League, then they need players with more experience who would make the starting lineup stronger.
