It’s safe to say that Arsenal have exceeded all expectations in the Premier League so far this season.
While many predicted the Gunners to potentially secure 4th spot after their astute summer business, the club have managed to surprise even their own supporters by being the league leaders currently.
In 12 games this term, Mikel Arteta’s men have won 10, while losing and drawing one match apiece, which points to how they have set the bar for the rest.
While the results exemplify Arsenal’s quality, they have also arguably been the most entertaining side to watch this season.
For starters, the North Londoners are the highest scorers in the division in the ongoing campaign after an Erling Haaland-inspired Manchester City machine.
However, the standard of their all-round displays have been a joy to watch, with a front three of Gabriel Jesus, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli catching the eye in particular.
Individual players aside, it is Mikel Arteta that perhaps deserves the most credit for implementing his possession-based philosophy, which has consistently oozed style, class and control throughout the course of the season.
So much so that Jamie Carragher has gone as far as to say that he has not enjoyed watching any team in England as much as Arsenal up until this point.
“I have loved watching Arsenal, they’ve almost been my favourite team to watch this season”, he said, as reported by the Mirror and relayed by Anfield Watch.
In Arteta’s time at the club, there have most certainly been examples where his side have played a breathtaking brand of football.
However, the Spaniard’s team only managed to do so in spells and select games before the start of this season.
With each and every starter at Arsenal having understood the ins and outs of Mikel Arteta’s vision, the football has been a sight for sore eyes, as Jamie Carragher said.
