Real Madrid fans have reacted on Twitter to the rumours that Arsenal are keen to sign Luka Jović this month.

It’s the final week of the January transfer window and Arsenal are eager to bring in a striker before the deadline.

Those Dušan Vlahović dreams seemed to have gone up in smoke, but his fellow countryman could be a name they bring in instead.

The Athletic have claimed that the Gunners are going to decide whether or not to make a move for Jović, as they have concerns over the 24-year-old’s defensive work rate.

One thing is for sure, Real Madrid fans want the player to leave and think Arsenal are at an ‘advantage’ if he doesn’t sign for them.

It has been three years since the current La Liga leaders paid over £50 million for the player’s talents (Sky Sports), but it just hasn’t worked out for him at the Santiago Bernabéu.

After scoring 40 goals in 93 games for Eintracht Frankfurt, Jovic has managed just three in 47 matches for Madrid.

Therefore, it’s understandable why Madrid fans are keen for him to leave and join Arsenal instead.

It has been obvious for some while that Mikel Arteta needs a striker and things became even more desperate when they struggled to score against bottom-of-the-table, Burnley, before the winter break.

It will be interesting if the Gunners don’t bring anyone in if that means Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will return to the fold after being stripped of the captaincy.

Arsenal are in a fight to finish in the top four and both Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are proving that they aren’t going to fire them to the Champions League during these final months of the campaign.
