Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have admired Arsenal’s ambition after their move for Ben White, although there is a feeling that they may be overpaying.
Tottenham were said to be interested in White, but it is Arsenal who have made the move to sign the Brighton & Hove Albion defender first.
Sky Sports reported how Arsenal have had a £40 million bid rejected for the central defender yesterday.
Most Tottenham fans now believe that they are out of the race already, as they simply cannot afford that price.
And there are some who have complimented Arsenal for showing desire to want to spend big.
Ambitious Arsenal – but still a gamble
White could have been an appealing signing for both Tottenham and Arsenal, with the North London duo looking for a central defender.
The 23-year-old has impressed after his first season of Premier League football, and forced his way into the England squad for Euro 2020.
However, it must be said that Arsenal are putting a lot of faith in White stepping up, by submitting such a large offer.
It seems that Arsenal will have to raise their bid further if they are to land White, and it remains to be seen whether they will make a second attempt to try and land the defender.
