Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur were linked with moves for Maddison ahead of his Norwich City transfer two years ago.

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are among the contenders to sign Norwich City’s James Maddison in January, after bookmakers Bet Victor opened a market on the midfielder’s next club.
Maddison has excelled since breaking into the Norwich first team at the start of this season, scoring seven goals and creating another eight for his teammates. And according to ESPN, the 21-year-old’s form has already alerted Everton, who are said to have watched him last November.
Perhaps unsurprisingly then, Everton have been made 2/1 favourites for Maddison’s signature, ahead of Arsenal [4/1] and Tottenham [8/1].
The north London duo were last linked with moves for Maddison two years ago, when he was still on the books of hometown heroes, Coventry City [Coventry Telegraph].

And it’s possible they could revive their interest in the player, with Arsenal likely to lose Mesut Ozil at the end of his contract in June and Tottenham having passed up the opportunity to sign Ross Barkley from Everton ‘because they feel they can sign a better player in the summer’ [Evening Standard].
