Bayern Munich reportedly joined Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal in the race to sign the Bordeaux winger.
North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham received a boost in their pursuit of Bordeaux winger Malcom last night, when Bayern Munich manager Jupp Heynckes insisted that his club are not interested in signing the Brazilian this summer, as quoted by the Daily Mail.
The 21-year-old has been in fine form for his club this season, racking up eight goals and six assists in 26 Ligue 1 outings thus far.
He is an exciting, pacey forward who can play anywhere along the frontline, and he will surely prove to be a wonderful signing for whichever club wins the race for his signature.
According to the Telegraph, the Gunners and Spurs were both very keen on signing Malcom in January, with a deal thought to be worth in the region of £35.3 million being mooted.
Bayern reportedly entered the race for the Bordeaux man, but Heynckes insisted that his side have no interest in the Brazilian, as quoted by the Daily Mail:
“I have never seen him play. Therefore, I am not able give an opinion on him. But I don’t think there is interest here. He always gets put into the shopping window but nobody really goes after him.”
Quite where Malcom ends up remains to be seen, but if Bayern are in fact not interested in signing the winger, Spurs and Arsenal’s chances of bringing him to north London would undoubtedly improve.
