After weeks and weeks of speculation, it seems as though Arsenal are finally set to sign Mykhaylo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk.

The Times have reported that a deal is likely to be sealed next week, and it finally looks as though this lengthy transfer saga is coming to an end.

However, it wouldn’t be an Arsenal transfer story without threatening one last twist.

Indeed, according to The Express, a late issue has emerged between the Gunners and the Ukrainian winger as negotiations enter the final stage.

As many will know, Mudryk is desperate to join Arsenal at this stage. He’s been flirting with the club for months on social media, while he’s even admitted to CBS in the past that the north London side is his dream club.

Mudryk wants to get a move on with this deal and join up with his soon-to-be new teammates, but according to The Express, Arsenal aren’t in such a hurry.

Indeed, this report states that Edu is currently doing everything in this deal on his own terms.

The Express go as far as to claim that the two parties are not on the same page as the deal enters the final stages of negotiations.

Mudryk is raring to go, while Arsenal are taking things more slowly, but, in all honesty, this deal should still get done.

Yes, Arsenal’s delays may give a team such as Chelsea, who have been linked, a window of opportunity to come in at the eleventh hour, but a patient approach does make sense in a lot of ways here.

Indeed, while Arsenal fans may be keen for Edu to get a move on and conclude this deal, taking your time and making sure the finer details of this deal are all in-line is the right way to approach this transfer.

The speed of this transfer may be a late issue, but this deal should still get over the line sooner or later.
