Lazio forward Keita Baldé Diao crashed his Lamborghini in Rome yesterday, but the player’s agent has hit out at suggestions he was drunk at the time.
Keita Baldé Diao cuts a frustrated figure at Lazio at the moment and he has been repeatedly linked to Arsenal and Liverpool over the last few months.
The ex-Barcelona youth product reportedly rejected the chance to sign for Liverpool in the summer and if that is the case then his decision has backfired.
Keita’s agent has admitted that the lack of game time is troubling and a January move looks likely.
But prospective buyers won’t have been delighted to hear of Keita crashing his car in the early hours of the morning.
Although Keita escaped unhurt, the car was a wreck and reports surfaced in the Italian media that suggested the player had been drinking, although it is accepted that he was under the legal limit.
“While reports said that he had a blood alcohol level of 0.34, which is below the legal limit, it wouldn’t be advisable for a newly qualified driver and it isn’t true, he was completely sober.
“I reiterate that Keita hadn’t drunk anything because that doesn’t enter into his concept of professionalism and his lifestyle.”
