Petr Cech has joined Arsenal from Premier League rivals Chelsea.

Chelsea and Arsenal fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to have their say on the transfer of Petr Cech.

The Gunners have recruited the Czech Republic international goalkeeper from their Premier League rivals Chelsea on a long-term contract for an undisclosed fee, as announced on the club’s official website.

According to BBC Sport, Arsenal had to pay £10 million as transfer fee for the services of the former Rennes star.

Cech played more than 400 games during his 11 years at Chelsea, but he could make just seven appearances in the Premier League last season due to the presence of Thibaut Courtois.

The 33-year-old achieved huge success with the Blues, winning the Premier League title four times and the Champions League once among others.

The former Sparta Prague star also set a Chelsea goalkeeping record of 228 clean sheets in all competitions, beating the previous highest total of 208, set by former England international Peter Bonetti between 1960 and 1979.

Following Cech’s transfer, Chelsea and Arsenal fans took to Twitter to have their say.
