Arsenal are interested in Martin Baturina and are already planning to scout the Dinamo Zagreb playmaker next season.

Dinamo Zagreb talent Martin Baturina is a player admired at Arsenal and they plan to track him closely.

That is according to the Daily Express, who report that Arsenal are keen on playmaker Baturina.

It’s stated that Arsenal have repeatedly sent scouts to watch Dinamo games as they fancy both Baturina and defender Josip Sutalo.

Jurrien Timber’s arrival means Sutalo is unlikely to be signed now, and he is wanted by both Ajax and RB Leipzig.

Baturina remains a target though and it’s stated that Arsenal are already making plans to check on him regularly this coming season.

A transfer isn’t expected to materialise right now but Arsenal could end up missing out.

Italian and German clubs are understood to be interested in Baturina with Dinamo demanding up to £15million.

Arsenal will hope that Baturina stays put at Dinamo, as a move away to a bigger league could see his value rise and rise.

Who is Arsenal target Martin Baturina?

Baturina was born in Split and came through the ranks with both Hajduk and RNK Split.

The midfielder was snapped up by Dinamo Zagreb as a teenager and he has now become a first-team star.

Baturina plays mostly as an attacking midfielder but has also played deeper and even out wide.

The 20-year-old racks up 13 assists and six goals last season, showing his creative abilities for the Croatian side.

A diminutive midfielder, Baturina has been compared to Luka Modric and whilst reaching the heights of his career will be hard, there is clearly huge potential in Baturina.

Arsenal may see Baturina as an ideal fit in their 4-3-3 approach under Mikel Arteta, utilising him as an advanced playmaker like Martin Odegaard.

This may be a transfer for 2024 though – if Baturina hasn’t been snapped up elsewhere by then.
