Arsenal’s hopes of signing Real Sociedad striker Alexander Isak could be hanging by a thread amid claims he is unsure about a move to North London.
That’s according to the Daily Mail, who claim that there is now real doubt over whether Isak would really want to join Arsenal.
Isak has allegedly needed some convincing about Arsenal’s interest, and still doesn’t really seem overly enamoured as things stand.
Arsenal will try and make a move for Isak in the summer having focused on him as the main backup to top target Dusan Vlahovic in January.
Champions League football could be the biggest factor though, with Isak wanting to play in Europe’s top club competition.
Arsenal are far from nailed-on to be playing in that competition next season but do have a great chance of a top four finish.
The Gunners sit four points off a Champions League place but their striker pursuit almost feels like a Catch 22 situation.
Arsenal may not get into the top four without a quality striker, but they may not be able to get that quality striker until they finish in the top four.
Just how Arsenal navigate this situation remains to be seen, with Isak seemingly not enthralled by a move to the Emirates Stadium.

Isak, branded ‘exceptional’ by Gary Lineker, has emerged as one of Europe’s top young strikers and looks set for a huge future.
Isak has though only managed four league goals for Real Sociedad this season, which of course isn’t a great record.
With a £75million release clause in his deal, Isak won’t exactly be cheap if Arsenal do make their move.
Much like with Vlahovic, it sounds like Arsenal face a battle even convincing Isak to join, before you get into anything about the fee involved.
