Alan Shearer is backing Gabriel Jesus for success after trading a squad role at Manchester City for guaranteed starts with Arsenal.
Everybody knew that Arsenal needed to bring in a new striker this summer with Alexandre Lacazette heading back to Lyon.
Add in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s January departure and a striker was the top priority for Arsenal heading into the summer window.
Mikel Arteta and Edu pounced to sign a player they both love – Brazil international Gabriel Jesus.
Arsenal struck a £45million deal to sign Jesus from Manchester City this summer, giving him a huge role at the Emirates Stadium.

Jesus was highly-regarded at City, certainly by Pep Guardiola because of his ability to press from the front brilliantly.
For Jesus though, it was a difficult task at times.
Guardiola’s tinkering across the front line meant that Jesus was in and out of the team, sometimes even playing as a right-sided winger rather than as a striker.
Jesus was into the final year of his contract when Arsenal struck, handing him the chance to star as their new centre forward.
This is hugely exciting for Jesus and for Arsenal, and there was a glimpse of the future as Jesus hit a superb hat-trick against Sevilla last weekend.

Fans are expecting big things from Jesus and it seems that pundits are as well.
Alan Shearer – who certainly knows a thing or two about scoring Premier League goals – has given his verdict on Jesus joining Arsenal.
Shearer has told BBC Sport that he thinks Jesus is a ‘very clever signing’ for Arsenal, especially because he and Arteta know each other from Manchester City.
Shearer predicts that Jesus is going to ‘flourish’ at Arsenal because he will know he is their first-choice striker, rather than feeling that he would be in and out at City.
“Arsenal have bolstered their attack too and Gabriel Jesus is a very clever signing,” said Shearer. “Manager Mikel Arteta knows him from their time together at City and I think Jesus will flourish now he is the main man and leading the line rather than looking around and not knowing whether he is a centre-forward or not,” he added.
