Arsenal are chasing Lisandro Martinez and the Ajax ace is understood to be desperate to make the move to the Premier League.
The Gunners are set to tie up a fourth summer signing with Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus undergoing a medical today.
Matt Turner, Marquinhos and Fabio Vieira have already joined Arsenal this summer and Jesus will follow them to North London.
Arsenal aren’t done just yet though and focus their attention on signing Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez.

The plan for Mikel Arteta and co is to bring in a left-sided defender who can cover a number of positions.
Kieran Tierney and Gabriel Magalhaes are quality starters in the Premier League, but backups like Pablo Mari and Nuno Tavares just aren’t good enough.
Signing one player to cover both positions would be ideal for Arsenal and they have identified their top target for that role.
Arsenal are understood to have made a new cash bid of €40million (£34million) for Ajax star Martinez according to De Telegraaf and The Athletic.

It’s unclear whether Ajax will accept that bid as they may demand more given how important Martinez is to them.
Martinez won Ajax’s Player of the Year award last season and the Dutch club love his versatility – just like Arsenal do.
One factor working in Arsenal’s favour is that the Daily Mail claim Martinez is ‘determined’ to play in the Premier League.
It’s stated that Martinez is happy at Ajax and loves life in Amsterdam but is watching the chase for his signature closely.
Whilst not agitating for a move, Martinez is allegedly keen to make sure that this Premier League chance doesn’t pass him by.
Arsenal may still need to increase their offer again for Ajax to do business as they want closer to £43million but knowing that the defender is interested in the move is part of the battle won.
