Fabrizio Romano has reported on Twitter that Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are in talks to sign Romeo Lavia, but Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea remain keen on the Southampton midfielder.
The Italian journalist has claimed that Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea all are interested in signing Romeo Lavia from Southampton in the summer transfer window.
Romano has reported that Arsenal are in talks with Southampton and with Lavia’s camp, but Chelsea are keeping a close eye on the situation.
Arsenal or Chelsea for Romeo Lavia?
In our view, Arsenal are more likely than Chelsea to be able to sign Romeo Lavia from Southampton in the summer transfer window.
That the Gunners are in advanced talks with Southampton and the Belgium international defensive midfielder suggests that they believe that they could be able to bring him to the Emirates Stadium.
Yes, Chelsea are interested too, but the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners are not in talks yet.
Arsenal are clearly in pole position for Lavia, who has played for the Belgium national football team once again already in his career and is just 19 years of age.
It will be interesting to see how much Arsenal eventually would have to pay for the defensive midfielder.
