Premier League rivals Arsenal and Leicester City look set to miss out on Amine Adli after AC Milan reached an agreement with the £9 million-rated speed-machine, as reported by Tuttomercatoweb.

While YouTube compilations should undoubtedly be taken with a pinch of salt, it’s impossible not to get excited about this former France U18 international when watching him in full flow.

Arms whirring and legs ablaze, Adli is a forward who would make Usain Bolt look like Per Mertesacker with a hamstring strain, breezing past opposition defenders before thumping a shot high into the net.

In fact, there’s a touch of the Kylian Mbappes about Adli. No wonder he’s in such high demand.

Will Arsenal and Leicester miss out on Adli?

21-year-old Adli produced eight goals and eight assists during a breakthrough 2020/21 campaign as Toulouse narrowly missed out on promotion back to Ligue 1.

And it seems Toulouse will have to make do without two of the most exciting youngsters in French football next season.

While Kouadio Kone has joined Borussia Monchengladbach – despite Leeds United’s best efforts – Adli looks set to become the latest fresh-faced talent to join a youthful Milan side already boasting a treasure trove of footballing gems.

TMW reports Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester were interested, as were Bayer Leverkusen, Marseille and a Borussia Dortmund side scouring the market for potential Jadon Sancho successors.

AC Milan are at the front of the queue, though, having agreed a deal with Adli. However, there’s still work to be done as the Rossoneri have yet to meet Toulouse’s £9 million price tag.

Adli, who has just one year left on his contract, was recently named Ligue 2’s player of the year.
