Bukayo Saka has emerged as one of the brightest young talents in the Premier League over the past few seasons.

While Saka has been shining at Arsenal there has been constant talk of Saka being poached by Manchester City in recent years as Pep Guardiola’s side continue to show interest in the England star.

However, Arsenal’s game against City last night should serve as a warning to Saka that a move to City would be a mistake.

Pep Guardiola is a manager known for his tactical flexibility and experimentation, particularly when it comes to his full-backs. On Wednesday, he used Bernardo Silva, an attacking midfielder, as a left-back.

This is not the first time Guardiola has done something like this, and it’s easy to imagine him doing the same thing with Saka if he were to join City.

Saka has primarily played on the right wing for Arsenal this season, where he has been in sensational form.

However, if he were to join City, he could easily end up being pushed back to left-back, where he started his career. This would be a waste of his talents, and it’s doubtful that he would be happy playing in a position that stifles his attacking talents.

City certainly have a wealth of attacking talent at their disposal, but this could also be a problem for Saka. He would have to compete with players like Phil Foden, Riyad Mahrez, Jack Grealish and Bernardo Silva for a place in the starting XI.

This would be a difficult task, and it’s not clear that Saka would get the playing time he wants on the wing if he were to head to the Etihad.

Furthermore, Arsenal are currently challenging for the Premier League title, and it’s hard to see why Saka would want to leave at this point in his career. The Gunners have a talented squad, an excellent manager in Mikel Arteta and a loyal fanbase. Saka is a key player and a fan favourite at Arsenal, and that should be reason enough for him to stay.

Saka shouldn’t be considering leaving Arsenal in any case, but the fact that Silva was used as a left-back last night should serve as a huge red flag if he was ever considering the move to City that had been touted.
