Some Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to manager Mikel Arteta’s latest comments on Folarin Balogun.
Balogun is out of contract at Arsenal at the end of the season, and no new deal is in place at the moment.
Arteta has said that he hopes that the 19-year-old striker signs a new contract with the Gunners and commits his long-term future to the Premier League club.
The Spaniard told Arsenal’s official website about Balogun leaving in the summer: “No, I’m still very positive that Flo is going to stay with us and it’s what we’re trying to do as a club, and it’s what I’m trying to do as a manager. As far as I know from last week, the player wants to be here, so I’m positive. I think he’s made some big progress in a few months.”
Balogun is only 19 years of age, and although he is doing well for the Arsenal Under-23 side, it is not going to be easy for the teenager to break into the first team and play regularly.

After all, the Gunners are not short on players upfront. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the first-choice striker at the North London club, while Alexandre Lacazette is an important player and Eddie Nketiah is progressing well.
If Balogun wants to play regular first-team football right now, then Arsenal is not the place for him.
The Sun has reported interest in the teenager from Stuttgart, Bayer Leverkusen and Rennes, who all want to sign him on a free transfer in the summer of 2021.
