Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur shared the points in the North London derby at the Emirates Stadium.
Sunday’s North London derby proved to be a level affair as Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur played out a 1-1 draw at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal had taken the lead in the game courtesy of an own goal from Kevin Wimmer but a penalty from Harry Kane saw the sides ultimately share the spoils.
The contest was largely fought in the middle of the park as the Gunners looked to find a way past Spurs’ new look 3-5-2 formation.
That battle in the middle saw defensive midfielders Granit Xhaka and Victor Wanyama coming up against each other.
Before the game we compared the two players to see how they matched up this season; a battle the Tottenham man won as he came out on top in five of the eight areas analysed.

And as it turns out, Xhaka got his revenge in a narrow victory as he won in four of the eight areas with them drawing in two.
Xhaka managed more key passes than Wanyama, one compared to none, and a better passing accuracy; 82 per cent compared to 81 per cent.
Wanyama, though, actually posted more accurate passes than the Switzerland midfielder managed.
Xhaka was better defensively, though, posting more won tackles – four compared to one – and twice as many ball recoveries – ten compared to five. They were level when it came to interceptions.
The Spurs midfielder posted more shots – two compared to one – although neither managed to get one on target.
