Arnaut Danjuma has now shared what Richarlison told him about Everton ‘every single day’ while together at Tottenham Hotspur across the winger’s loan transfer last term.

Spurs thwarted the Toffees’ attempts to lure Danjuma back to the Premier League in January at the eleventh hour. Frank Lampard had sought to sign the 26-year-old to improve his side’s hopes of avoiding relegation. But Everton firing the coach convinced the forward to not join.

Instead, Danjuma secured a loan transfer from Villarreal to Tottenham that included a £27m option to buy the Dutchman. Yet he failed to establish his presence in north London and got just 12 games. The forward further only played for a total of 198 minutes in all competitions.

Interim head coach Ryan Mason further only afforded Danjuma his only start at Spurs during their penultimate game last term. While the forward’s two goals came against Preston North End in the FA Cup and then against AFC Bournemouth in a 3-2 defeat in the Premier League.

Still, Villarreal allowing Danjuma to leave on loan upon his return from Tottenham saw Sean Dyche sign off on Everton making a new move for his temporary transfer. The six-cap winger headed for Goodison Park on July 23. But the Blues’ deal does not include any buy clauses.

Danjuma joined Everton on loan despite some Toffees fans booing the Dutchman when they faced Tottenham in April. The forward did not come off the bench as Michael Keane secured the Blues a 1-1 draw in the 90th minute. Harry Kane’s penalty put Spurs in front in the 68th.

Even still, Danjuma claims it is ‘more beautiful’ for him to join Everton now – despite walking away in January to join Tottenham and then being booed – and claims Richarlison reminded him throughout the Dutchman’s time in north London what a ‘beautiful’ club the Blues are.

“He is an Everton fanatic,” Danjuma told the Daily Mail. “I sat next to him and he reminded me every single day, ‘Everton is a beautiful club, you know’. I think it is more beautiful for me to join now and I genuinely mean that.”
