Back in January, when many thought that Arnaut Danjuma was heading to Everton, he posted a message on Twitter stating that he is ‘born ready’.
In the end, the all-action winger snubbed a move to Everton, and at the very last minute, decided to join Tottenham Hotspur on a loan deal from Villarreal.
Well, at the second time of asking, Everton are now hoping that they get their man, with Arnaut Danjuma closing on a move to Goodison Park – transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has given his seal of approval.
Interestingly enough, ahead of that move, he has rehashed the above message via his Instagram story today.
This time, those on Merseyside will be hoping that the 26-year-old keeps his word and actually signs on the dotted line because his actions back in the winter were brutal.
Nonetheless, whilst also posting that message via his Instagram story, he has also retweeted that message, and as you can tell from the message to that tweet at the time, Everton fans were getting excited by his possible arrival.
Danjuma has a point to prove
Everton aren’t in a situation to splash the cash and search the market for the next big thing. They have done all of that and landed themselves in a financial hole.
But to possibly get Danjuma now, regardless of what happened back in the winter, is very much needed and a very good move by the club.
The player himself has a point to prove because Spurs hardly used him last season. Plus, injuries did harm him during his time at Bournemouth.
For the Toffees next season, it’s all about staying away from the relegation fight and Danjuma helps them do just that.
