Leeds United have been dealt a huge injury blow with Kalvin Phillips set to be out with a hamstring problem for as long as two months.

The Telegraph report that the England international suffered the injury against Brentford over the weekend, with the assessment proving to be worse than originally feared.

As well as Phillips, Patrick Bamford is also back on the injury table after suffering a problem against Brentford, with Liam Cooper also going down with a hamstring issue.

Injuries have been a recurring problem for Leeds this season, with numerous players missing huge chunks of the season due to various bumps and niggles. And now, the Whites will be without their key midfielder for the most strenuous period of the campaign.

Indeed, Leeds are already loitering around the wrong end of the Premier League table, and Phillips now being out injured for two months is a massive blow for the club. And for fans, there are eager for Marcelo Bielsa to turn to the U-23 side for reinforcements.

Leeds signed Lewis Bate from Chelsea in the summer, and fans are eager for the teenager to be call-up to the senior set-up to fill in for the injured Phillips.

The England U-18 international has impressed for Leeds this campaign at Premier League 2 level. And with Phillips now out injured until February, fans on social media are begging Bielsa to turn to the youngster rather than improvise with a current senior player.
