Leeds United continue to be linked with Marcelo Bielsa.
According to Argentinian newspaper El Dia, Marcelo Bielsa wants Alejandro Kohan to follow him to Leeds United if he does take the Elland Road job.
Leeds sacked manager Paul Heckingbottom earlier this week after just four months in the job, with the 40-year-old paying the price for just four wins in 16 games.
Now, Leeds are yet again searching for a new manager, and the Yorkshire Evening Post report that Marcelo Bielsa remains the top target in what would be a stunning move.
Bielsa, 62, is out of work having left Lille in December, and would be an ambitious appointment for the Whites given his standing as one of football’s tactical innovators over the last 20 years.
Bielsa is allegedly planning an early pre-season return already, but he will then need to bring in backroom staff – and reports in his native Argentina have offered an update on that.
Argentinian newspaper El Dia report that Bielsa has identified Alejandro Kohan as a target to be on his coaching team, with the report claiming he may have ‘everything arranged’ to head to West Yorkshire.
Kohan, 54, has been working as a fitness coach in his native Argentina with the likes of River Plate, Banfield, Arsenal, Quilmes, and Independiente, had been linked with Estudiantes before the Leeds rumours began, and could be following Bielsa to Elland Road.
Last week, Voetbal Nieuws reported that Bielsa wanted Jan van Winckel as his assistant but couldn’t lure him from his post as Saudi Arabia’s technical director – and will hope for more luck with Kohan.
