Glasgow Rangers midfielder Scott Arfield says that new Gers managers Steven Gerrard will attract top players to Ibrox, and this should worry Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic.

Rangers have appointed Liverpool legend Gerrard as their new manager, and the former Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder will take charge of the Ibrox outfit from next month.
The Scottish Premiership outfit have also signed 29-year-old midfielder Arfield on a free transfer following his departure from Premier League club Burnley.
The Canada international midfielder has predicted quality players to be attracted to Rangers due to the presence of Liverpool legend Gerrard at Ibrox, and this should be a concern for Celtic.

Arfield told The Scottish Sun: “Working for Steven Gerrard and Gary McAllister is going to be fantastic, there are exciting times ahead.
“Steven Gerrard will definitely attract top players but I think Rangers already had that appeal because they are a top club.
“The stature of him suits a club of this stature. Of course, the stature of people coming to Scotland, it entices you to come back up here.
“Obviously, with someone of his calibre coming up here, it’s so much more appealing for players to come up to this league.”

Concern for Celtic
In recent seasons, Celtic have attracted some quality footballers, such as Scott Sinclair, but the arrival of Gerrard at Rangers could change the game and maybe level the playing field.
This is the former England international midfielder’s first managerial job, and many players would want to work with him.
One should not be surprised if Gerrard is able to bring in one or two more established Premier League players to Rangers this summer.
