Jack Collison has called for West Ham to sit up and take note of Ricky-Jade Jones performance for Peterborough United yesterday.

Jones, who is still only 17 scored twice for Posh in a pre-season friendly against Colchester United, to enhance his reputation even further.

And Collison, who used to work as a youth coach at Peterborough, has suggested that West Ham should be taking note of the teenager’s display.

If West Ham were to launch a move for Jones he would not come cheaply, as Posh chairman Darragh MacAnthony has suggested he wants to sell him for £20 million.

Jones has already been linked with Liverpool and Arsenal on Sky such is his level of ability.

The teenager may not have fully broken into Peterborough’s starting line-up yet, but he already has a goal against Premier League side Burnley to his name, after coming on in the FA Cup.

Jones should get plenty of game time at Posh this term, as he is set to be part of their first-team squad for the coming season.
