The England squad have met up ahead of the Qatar World Cup, and just as is in 2018 and 2021, it seems as though they’re having a great time in camp.

Of course, the defining pictures of the last two England camps have been inflatable unicorns in swimming pools, but this tournament’s camp may well be centred around basketball.

Indeed, the Three Lions have installed an arcade-style basketball machine in their camp, and, as ever, they’re becoming rather competitive over the high scores.

Unfortunately, some are better than others at this game, and one man who seems to be struggling when it comes to shooting hoops is Bukayo Saka.

In a video uploaded to England’s official YouTube channel, Saka had a go at the basketball game, and it’s fair to say that he didn’t impress his teammates.

Marcus Rashford and Raheem Sterling watched closely as Saka tried and failed to set a high score, and the Manchester United man didn’t hold back his thoughts.

Rashford heckled Saka with calls of ‘are you serious?’ and ‘that’s embarrassing’ as the Arsenal winger attempted to do his best Michael Jordan impression.

Saka himself wasn’t having any of it, stating that the machine himself was telling him he did well with his effort.

We can only hope that Saka is on target when it comes to shooting a football more often than when he’s shooting a basketball, because his form in this sport didn’t look great.

Of course, Rashford is only having a bit of fun with Saka as the team continue to bond before the World Cup, and it’s great to see that level of camaraderie being cultivated at this early stage of the camp.

If England are to win the World Cup off-field relationships will be just as important as on-pitch performances.
