Aston Villa fans on Twitter are angry after a rumour emerged that Tottenham are going in hard for their number one target Ollie Watkins.
The Sun on Sunday (6 September, page 61) have claimed that Spurs are going to make a ‘dramatic late move’ for Watkins as they battle with Villa for his signature.
The Brentford hitman has been top of Dean Smith’s wishlist since the start of the summer after the Bees were beaten in the play-off finals in July.
Villa need more attacking power in the final third and that was proven when none of their strikers – Keinan Davis and Ally Samatta – were able to find the back of the net after football restarted.
But Spurs could also do with Watkins services because he has the capabilities of playing up top and pushing out on the left.
There’s no doubt that the Villa Park faithful will enter into meltdown mode if they do lose Watkins to the North London club, or any other club for that matter.

Whilst right-back Matty Cash has joined Villa from Nottingham Forest, the area of concern has been the striker, so these coming days and weeks will prove to be testing times for those in the Villa boardroom in regards to their number nine search.
