Chris Sutton couldn’t quite believe it when he was told that Harry Kane would ’tarnish’ his reputation at Tottenham Hotspur by moving to Bayern Munich.
The former striker was told by a Tottenham fan that their leading goalscorer should stay put amid transfer links to Bayern Munich.
For Sutton, who won the Premier League title with Blackburn Rovers, he thinks Harry Kane should make the move to the German giants and made it clear that they are ‘bigger’ than the London club, as he told BBC Radio 5 Live Sport.
Given that in 12 months Kane can pick whoever he wants to play for, it has seen some question why he would join a team that wins their respective league title in their sleep.
The lack of competitive nature in the Bundesliga has been questioned for a while, along with Kane if he decides to go there.
But Sutton defended all of that, including certain comments from a Spurs fan about the England captain moving.

“Are Bayern Munich a bigger club than Tottenham,” asked Sutton.
He was then told ‘in their country they are’ to which he respond: “What do you mean ‘in their country?’. Bayern Munich are a bigger club than Tottenham full stop.
“How many times have Tottenham won the European Cup or the Champions League? What was the Premier League last season? (In response to Germany being a one or two-horse title race).
“It gets him a League winners medal. He can score 50 goals at Tottenham in a season and Spurs will finish eighth, which will get him nothing.
On being told his Spurs status will be ‘tarnished’: “Are you joking?” responded Sutton.
On Romero and Son shutting down transfer talk about their futures but not Kane: “I think you have got a point there. He loves Spurs, apparently (that’s why he has to come out and speak).”

Should Kane join Bayern?
First and foremost, Bayern need to put the money down on the table that Daniel Levy wants for his player.
And if they don’t do that, then it’s pretty clear, Kane stays put.
But should he move, regardless? At the end of the day, Robert Lewandowski has had one of the great careers playing for the club, so why shouldn’t Kane go down the same road?
Plus, they have won two European Cups since Kane first donned the Spurs colours, once again, trophies he should be pushing to win, but won’t get at Hotspur Way.
