Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to react after Harry Kane said he thinks he coped ‘well’ with the saga involving Manchester City.

What’s the story?

Well, you can understand why the Tottenham fans are baffled.

As quoted by The Athletic, Kane said: “Obviously there was a lot of talk and speculation over the summer. That is the first time it has really happened to me. But that is part and parcel of being a big player and I think I coped with it well.”

As you’ll know, Manchester City tried to sign Kane over the summer, submitting one bid worth £100m for the 28-year-old.

Unsurprisingly, Daniel Levy rejected the offer, and the Citizens eventually decided to refrain from making a second bid.

That didn’t stop Kane from skipping training though, and he even went on The Overlap with Gary Neville to talk about his desire to leave (Sky Sports).

In our opinion, he didn’t handle the situation well at all.

Aside from his off-field conduct amid the transfer saga, Kane seems to have let the whole situation negatively impact his form.

The England international has scored just one goal in ten Premier League appearances this season, in what has been a woeful campaign.

Kane has hit six goals in other competitions, although his form in the Premier League is highly concerning.

Whether it’s on the field, or away from it, we’re not sure how the Tottenham No.10 can say he handled things well.

Under Antonio Conte, however, we’re expecting a sharp upturn in his goalscoring return.

The Italian has previously got the best out of other powerful No.9s such as Diego Costa and Romelu Lukaku, so we see no reason why he can’t do the same with Kane.

For now, let’s see what the Tottenham fans on Twitter have been saying about his comments…
