Yannick Bolasie has taken a surprise trip to Goodison Park, but it isn’t for Everton’s match later.

The former Crystal Palace winger was sent back to Everton last month following a season-long loan at Sporting Lisbon.

The Toffees resume their Premier League season tonight with a visit of Liverpool in a Merseyside derby.

And Bolasie, a £30 million signing in 2016, made an impromptu trip to the stadium on his bike yesterday.

Here’s how Everton fans responded to the 31-year-old winger’s tweets:

Bolasie only has a year left on his contract at Goodison Park and it seems unlikely that he’ll have much of a role to play under Carlo Ancelotti going forward.

The France-born attacker has had three different loans away from Merseyside – Aston Villa, Anderlecht and Sporting – and the writing’s been on the wall for some time, despite the fact there’s a different manager on this occasion.
