Dubbed the new Soldado, the Tottenham Hotspur striker is six years younger than the Spaniard was when he signed for Spurs.
Tottenham Hotspur striker Vincent Janssen may have only been at White Hart Lane for a few months but he is already dividing opinion among the fan base, with some hailing his work rate and others feeling he is short of the quality required to succeed in the Premier League.
Unsurprisingly given his struggles in front of goal – he has three penalties to his name but is yet to score from open play – some Tottenham fans have dubbed him the new Roberto Soldado. However, there is one thing the critics could well be forgetting and that is Janssen’s age.

While Soldado arrived at White Hart Lane when he was 28, Janssen only turned 22 in June and it was always going to take him time to settle in a new league and a new country.
Janssen took the Dutch league by storm last season, and while he has struggled for goals at Spurs his hold-up play and attitude have been superb.

That is something that cannot be learned, but playing in the English top tier, against no-nonsense defenders, can be provided you have the work rate and the innate talent.
Some Tottenham fans will point to Harry Kane and Dele Alli, who are 23 and 20 respectively, yet both those players have come through the ranks in English football and few 22-year-olds take a new club by storm from the outset.
