Manchester United’s move for Victor Lindelof gives Tottenham opportunity to pounce for Michael Keane.
Burnley’s Michael Keane
Manchester United have announced a fee has been agreed with Benfica for the transfer of centre-back Victor Lindelof.
As with most big transfers this has a knock-on effect, and Michael Keane is the player most directly affected.
The Burnley defender has had a terrific season and had been strongly tipped to seal a return to Old Trafford, by The Sun.

Lindelof’s move makes the prospect of the England international signing too a lot more unlikely.
It does provide an opportunity for other interested clubs to step up their pursuit of Keane.
One of these is Tottenham Hotspur, who were credited with strong interest in the £25 million rated defender by The Telegraph.
Spurs already have a strong defensive partnership of Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen, yet a shift to playing three at the back leaves the third spot open.
England’s Michael Keane during training
Head coach Mauricio Pochettino appears unconvinced by Kevin Wimmer judging by his lack of opportunities, while youngster Cameron Carter-Vickers remains untested at the top level.
Ben Davies has filled in as has Eric Dier but neither are long terms fits there, better suited to alternate positions.
Manchester United’s dwindling interest in Michael Keane should provide a more clear run for Spurs to stake their claim if they are serious about him.
Based on the rapid progress he has made since leaving United in 2014, he could be a tremendous addition to the Premier League’s best defence.
