Will Tottenham regret not pushing aside Bournemouth to land Sheffield United ace David Brooks?

Tottenham Hotspur may go on to regret not taking the plunge on Welsh attacker David Brooks.

Brooks is on the verge of a switch to Premier League competitors Bournemouth, with SkySports reporting the Wales international is due to undergo a medical today.

At a fee of just £10 million initially, considering Leicester just paid £22 million for James Maddison, and Aston Villa are demanding £30 millon for Jack Grealish, Brooks looks an absolute bargain.

At just 20-years-old, Brooks is a terrific prospect, and one who has been tipped for the top.

Just four months ago, Tottenham were claimed to be monitoring Brooks and had huge plans for him, according to The Sun.

The report claimed Spurs viewed attacking midfielder Brooks as having the right attributes to play up front and believed they could convert him into a centre-forward to become the next Harry Kane.

It would have been a fascinating project for Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino to take on, and it is a shame the experiment will not get to play out.

Bournemouth appear to have bagged a bargain, and especially if they successfully decide to deploy him as a striker, Tottenham will really begin to regret not taking the gamble.
