How prepared really are Tottenham for Toby Alderweireld’s departure?

Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld is, against the odds, still at the club.
His £25 million release clause makes it easy for a club to sign him this summer, and Spurs could see him whisked away any day now.
If that worst case scenario was to happen, how prepared are the club for his departure?
In the aftermath of the club’s brilliant signing of Tanguy Ndombele, Lyon are reportedly using some of the funds to snap up Joachim Andersen from Sampdoria, a Tottenham target, Get Football News France report.
One problem with a sudden Alderweireld departure is Juan Foyth and Davinson Sanchez’s involvement at the Copa America.
If Alderweireld is sold tomorrow, Spurs will report for pre-season training with only one senior centre-back who has started a Premier League game for the club, Jan Vertonghen.
Foyth and Sanchez will return for the start of the season, but the preparation would not be ideal.

It will depend how confident Spurs are of keeping Alderweireld, but it would be better to sign a player now, rather than wait until he needs replacing, especially with his contract expiring in a year anyway, along with Vertonghen.
Tottenham’s transfer market is off to a superb start, but a new centre-back should be an increasing priority.
