Tottenham Hotspur youngster Oliver Skipp has barely played this season.

Oliver Skipp is still waiting for a real opportunity at Tottenham Hotspur this season.
His only start came in the ill-fated loss to Colchester United, where no Tottenham player stood out.
In the Premier League, Skipp has made just two appearances, of just one minute each. Both of these came back in August.
It isn’t easy for Skipp to get game time, there is serious competition for places.
Moussa Sissoko, Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso, Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli, Eric Dier, Victor Wanyama and Harry Winks are all in front of him, making Winks the club’s ninth choice. No wonder he can’t get a game.
Nor are there any immediate opportunities on the horizon.
Spurs are struggling in the league, and their Champions League group could also go down to the wire.
The big problem for Skipp is that he is not playing under-23 football either.

He is 19, and like any young player, he needs game time to develop.
There should be no shame in dropping Skipp down to get minutes. Manchester United did it with Mason Greenwood over the past week.
When a first team chance does eventually come for Skipp, his task could be harder, due to a lack of game time and sharpness.
A loan move in January is a potential solution, unless players being sold or injured open up opportunities.
Until then, the lack of match action is putting Skipp’s development at risk.
