Are Tottenham Hotspur about to offload Georges-Kevin Nkoudou in some capacity?

Could Georges-Kevin Nkoudou finally be on his way out of Tottenham Hotspur? Perhaps.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino included his £11 million [The Mirror] flop in the squad for games against Leicester City and Wolves last month, but didn’t play him on either occasion.

It was reasonable to expect Pochettino to at least name him on the bench for Friday’s FA Cup trip to Tranmere, but the 23-year-old was nowhere to be seen and you wonder whether that it’s because a transfer is on the horizon.

That would tally with a report from Foot Mercato on December 31, which claimed that the former Marseille winger had loan opportunities in France, Germany, Italy and Spain.

Nkoudou, according to the report, hadn’t decided his future at the time, but that was six days ago and it seems plausible that his absence at Tranmere is because another move is pending.

Why would Pochettino name him on the bench against Leicester and Wolves and not Tranmere? He could of course be injured now, but it’s more likely to be a transfer-related decision by the Argentine, who has given him only 28 minutes of football this season.

The Frenchman, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Burnley, has only managed a total of 17 appearances in the Premier League since joining Spurs in 2016.
