Are the Carabao Cup semi-finals at Wembley? Many have asked this on Google after Manchester United and Newcastle reached the last four.

The Magpies booked their spot in the semi-final with a 2-0 win over Leicester on Tuesday evening, while the Red Devils overcame Charlton by a 3-0 scoreline.

Nottingham Forest take on Wolves while Southampton face Manchester City to decide who will join Manchester United and Newcastle in the semi-final.

So, are the Carabao Cup semi-finals at Wembley? Let’s take a look…

Are the Carabao Cup semi-finals at Wembley?

The answer is no – only the Carabao Cup final is played at Wembley.

Unlike the FA Cup, which schedules the semi-finals to be played at Wembley as well as the final, the Carabao Cup only sees one game played at the national stadium, the final.

Those involved in the Carabao Cup semi-final will have to play two legs in order to reach the final.

Each leg is played at the respective home grounds of those involved, and will involve extra-time if the scoreline is level after those two 90 minute affairs.

When is the Carabao Cup final?

The first chance of domestic silverware falls on Sunday 26th February.

Whoever wins the Carabao Cup – or the League Cup, as it is traditionally known – will earn a spot in the UEFA Europa Conference League playoffs ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.

Liverpool are currently the reigning Carabao Cup champions after defeating Chelsea in a thrilling penalty shootout last year, which ended 11-10 to the Reds following a 0-0 draw after 120 minutes of action.

However, a new champion will be named this term after Jürgen Klopp’s side suffered a 3-2 defeat to Manchester City in the Round of 16.

Be sure to keep an eye on developments tonight, as two of Southampton, Nottingham Forest, Wolves and Manchester City will join Newcastle and Manchester United in the semi-finals.
