Chris Martin appears to have more appealing teams that Sunderland to join right now.

Sunderland may be fighting a losing battle going for Derby County striker Chris Martin, considering the other sides interested in the striker.
Sunderland have made adding a new striker one of their priorities in the January transfer window, and Martin is the latest name to come on to their wihslist.
Sunderland have reportedly agreed a deal with Derby for the Scottish international.
However, they do not face a clear run to get hold of Martin, as plenty of Championship sides want to take him.
According to the Sunderland Echo Reading want to sign Martin, and the Northern Echo suggest that Norwich City are keen.

That could be bad news for Sunderland, as moving to either of those teams is surely more appealing than joining Chris Coleman’s side at this moment in time.
Historically, Sunderland are a bigger club than either of Norwich or Reading.
But Norwich have an outside chance of sneaking into the play offs, and Reading look relatively secure in mid-table.

Sunderland, meanwhile, are sat at the very bottom of the Championship table and have been in woeful form for the campaign.
And if Sunderland do manage to complete a deal for Martin, Coleman would have pulled off a seriously impressive piece of business, given the other offers that the striker has.
