Premier League clubs reportedly interested in signing Ayoze Perez from Newcastle – should Spurs be among them?

Newcastle United may have a task on their hands to keep hold of Ayoze Perez this summer, with the Sun reporting of interest in the attacker.
Real Betis are hopeful of tempting Perez back to his native Spain, but the 24-year-old would prefer to remain in England and several Premier League clubs are also keeping an eye on developments.

The Spaniard has scored 10 goals in 37 appearances in all competitions this season to help the Magpies to 10th in the table after being promoted from the Championship only the year before.
Who are they?
The report doesn’t state which sides from the English top flight are interested in Perez, but Tottenham Hotspur came very close to signing the forward in the past.
As the Newcastle star explained to Spanish publication Marca back in 2015, Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino is a big fan of his.

“Tottenham and especially Mauricio Pochettino were really interested, which is hugely flattering for me,” Perez said.
“At the end of the day nothing came of it because Newcastle considered me an important player and wouldn’t let me leave.”
Tottenham have once again had the issue this term of no adequate backup for top scorer Harry Kane and with the ability to play as a striker or attacking midfielder, could Perez be the ideal man to fill that role?
