The Sheffield Wednesday striker is on loan from Middlesbrough until the end of the season.

Sheffield Wednesday fans would have been more concerned than you’d expect after learning that Aitor Karanka had paid the price for boring Middlesbrough into a stupor.
After all, Boro’s interim boss Steve Agnew is the uncle of one Jordan Rhodes, the striker who joined The Owls on loan in January after failing out of favour at The Riverside.
Wednesday beat off competition from a number of Championship rivals to complete the signing of the prolific second tier goalscorer in January.
Despite concerns that the deal had not been completed before the deadline on January 31st, Rhodes agreed a loan deal with the chance to sign permanently for £10 million in the summer, the BBC reports.
The 27-year-old has endured a slow start to life at Hillsborough, netting just three times in ten appearances so far, but his impressive goalscoring record at Blackburn Rovers suggests that he may prove to be the man capable of firing Wednesday back to the top flight.
However, with Agnew playing a major role in his nephew’s arrival at Boro 14 months ago, as reported by the Northern Echo, there was a very real concern among some supporters that his ascension to the top job would mean Rhodes’ Riverside prospects would change.

Yet, the Northern Echo report that the Scotland international will indeed be remaining at the Steel City beyond this season with Middlesbrough making no plans to cancel the potential summer deal.
Consequently, Jordan will continue to work alongside his dad Andy, Owls’ goalkeeping coach. Well, they do say Wednesday is a family club.
