Rob Elliot and Karl Darlow surely have no future at Newcastle United if two transfer rumours come off.

If rumours are to be believed, then Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez is keen on signing PSG stopper Alphonse Areola this summer.
France Football reported that the £14 million-rated star [CIES, Football Observatory] has an admirer in Benitez, who has reportedly been in touch with the 25-year-old over joining the Magpies.
Considering that the Spanish manager could also sign up Martin Dubravka on a permanent deal, with talks for the £6 million goalkeeper planned this week [The Chronicle], United’s goalkeeping situation could be very, very strong in the near future.
And, hypothetically, signing both would surely mean that Rob Elliot and Karl Darlow are finished at Newcastle.

Darlow has played second fiddle to Dubravaka since January, while Elliot has been exiled completely it seems, but a double deal for the Slovakian and Areola would push Darlow further down the pecking order, and Elliot effectively into the abyss in time for next season.
The duo – both signed by Alan Pardew – are very capable goalkeepers in their own right, but Newcastle need better and a double swoop would mean that between the sticks is one less area for Benitez and the Magpies fans to worry about this summer.
